Andy Strapz Panniers

Hi all,
I bought some Andy Strapz expedition pannier bags and although I haven't used them yet I think they are top quality would like to recommend them. With the US dollar so high vs the $AUD at the moment you could pick them up very cheap.

This is them here: Expedition Pannierz - Andy Strapz

This would have been better off under 'equiping the bike - whats the best gear'

Or under 'reviews' though it is not a review as such

But look here for more comments

Sorry Frank, I often post in a rush because I'm at work and have to hide windows when people walk past. I'm glad you liked the panniers too, I think they look really strong.

Just to add my two penneth

Andy strapz bags are the dogs danglies..

470000kms thru the Outback and Indonesia...lost count of the number of crashes bashes soakings and general abuse......

Theyve never let me down and are well made.

One gripe is the small nylon snap clip on the bottom strap designed to stop the bags jumping around....they only survive the first off....but can be replaced with a needle some dental floss and 30 minutes sewing.

5 Star kit

I agree that Andy Strapz panniers work and work well.

I rode in a group of 3 all using expedition panniers and they all did well through 28,000km of bad roads and often being dropped. Mine went down on a highway at around 80-90kmh and the only damage was a small scrape/melt that could be sewn up and a broken plastic clip.

There were a couple of little issues, as mentioned above, the small straps holding the panniers in to the rack didn't last long. Though we accidentally came across a solution, rather than sewing the strap on we used velcro, but still kept the plastic clip. So when they hit the road, the velcro let go before breaking anything.

Also the seam where the main straps are sewn into the end seams (obvious place once you see them loaded up on your bike) began to let go. But some time with a needle and fishing line fixed that up nicely.

Andy is an easy and helpful guy to deal with, both when choosing stuff and subsequent service.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
