21brothers Sawky 30l Soft Bags Review (and Torby Plus 5l)

Hi!
I did a little review about the bags I am using on my trip from Vienna to Bangkok: 21brothers' Sawky 30l Soft Bags and Torby Plus 5l.
Here's the review, including some pictures:

Hope you find this useful, please let me know if you have any suggestions or other experiences with these bags.

Thank you for taking time to write the review!

There is definitely an absence of reviews (in english) of the 21 Brothers panniers bags. Another review that I found suggests that the external material could be more hardwearing: Panniers on the xCountry - Defylife

I have been considering these an alternative to my current solution that are around 20L per bag and not big enough when riding with a pillion and camping gear - an extra 20L (total) would come in handy. After reading both reviews, I may have been optimistic in hoping for better longetivity, crash-worthiness and waterproofing but I guess that is why they are €120.

I am not totally put off (yet) and I keep searching for more reviews while I procrastinate

Hi DaleC!
Thanks for the link, I haven't seen it before. Anyway, I hope my review was still useful. I have to admit that Carl's photos are much better though ;-)
Compared to e.g. Ortlieb bags, I do think the 21brothers will wear quicker (especially when dropping the bike regularly ;-) ) but as you said: the price is really low. I guess if 21bros could improve the bags in a new version for a few dollars more to make them even better.
If the flaws of these bags are a concern of course depends on your trip, your budget, your preferences etc etc.

Have fun evaluating options ;-)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
