XM GPS Radio - Any good for Africa?

Howdy Folks

Came across XM Radio ( XM Satellite Radio - America's #1 Satellite Radio Service )

A satellite based radio thing - blasts all kinds of radio channels to either a special satelite radio or into and through a GPS receiver (if it is XM radio compatable)

You can subscribe for $12 a month...

Was wondering if anyione had any experience of using XM radio and if the satellites that beam it out over Africa?

Not that I want to listen to Kiss 100 FM but things like the Led Zeplin station and the like could be good company on a long road.....

Thanks

Niallo

Does it work in Ireland? If not .. tehn it probably won't work in Africa...

You want a AM/FM/Shortwave radio .. AM/FM so you can listen to the local stations .. SW so you can listen to the BBC world service to hear about what is happening in english .. just so you are certain to understand what is happening (floods, roits, etc etc) in particular in the next place you are going too ..
