satellite phones and bgan
satellite phones & bgan, probably gonea go over most people heads but has anyone had any hands on experience with any make or type of satellite phone.
I'm especially interested to know if you have used one in north Africa and how well it worked (as apposed to gsm)... thanks jen

A local or tri-band phone will work perfectly near most conurbations in North Africa.
Away from signals, the Thuraya type of satellite phone is your best bet (it will also work as a GSM if there is a signal).
