I-POD speakers?

does anyone make some nice speakers for my i-pod that'll work from; batteries, bikes 12v current, hotel 120v, AND switchable to 240v? that way one could have music at a campsite, in a 120v hotel, and in asia 240v hotels.

a more versatile/robust option is an iTrip and a radio. you can then use any iPod, and any radio system. plus you can listen to the radio once in a while.

How loud do you want it. You can use passive speakers which don't require batteries. They tend to be smaller and designed for travel as well.

We bought a set of the T speakers and found them to be very good. Small, runs off a single AA battery for about 7-10 hours. They'll have enough volume for use in a hotel room or camp site at night. Using NiMh batteries being charged from the bike during sorted all the power problems.

They will work with other MP3 players but you might need a small audio extension lead as the T speaker is designed to plug directly into the flat surface of the Ipod, other players can have funky shapes that won't allow it to plug in directly.

We bought ours from Frys in the US

I have these speakers, definetly rate them, they can rock a small party and a good balance between piddly tinny sounding things and a unit that just sits on your kitchen work top. Comes in black or white with a nice sturdy travel case. About £40 on ebay.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
