Help - changing the language when installing programs in Windows.

I've got a French bought EEEPC, running Windows XP, in French. I can live with the core software being French but I'd prefer if any additional software was in English. Sometimes I'm given the option to choose which language to instal but annoyingly Garmin's Basecamp and Mapsource don't and thus instal French by default.

Does anyone know of a way to force the installer to a different language? I know of course the best option would be to have the whole OS in the same language, but sadly the only way to do that would be to instal a whole new version if Windows (there being no way to instal individual extra languages to the existing version of XP), and I'm not certain that XP is even available, let alone whether I'd want to shell out to buy it.

Have you tried changing the " location"...or maybe it's called " regional settings", in the control panel?

Actually it annoys me so much whenever I have a computer that runs in Italian, that I usually just reinstall windows XP in English and forget about it, I still run it on my netbook, and it just gets things done perfectly well.

There are very simple ways of getting hold of a copy, however I can't mention them ( publicly) , as they are rather "sinful".... :innocent:
