Global ISP Roaming
 

As internet/email access is being discussed in a couple of threads I thought this may be of interest:

I came across www.ipass.com a couple of years ago and found them to be cost effective for internet access from hotel rooms (or areas with GSM coverage), using a laptop, dial-up modem and local access number (compared to dialing the uk!). I don't know how the cost compares to internet cafés.

To use ipass you have to join a home ISP that is a partner, their website lists partners and countries/towns with access numbers.
