Haha, this photo was taken 2012 and Bentley turned a year old. We took him to Mexico and back. Now he is heading to Argentina.
We had a completely restful, wonderful stay at Salvador´s place. His mother was an amazing host! She made it hard for us to leave.
Thank you over and over, Salvador!

klr mechanic needed

Hi,
You seem like the person to ask regarding mechanics and parts in Managua.
I'm in San Juan Del sur but need to renew my permit in the city. Do you know where I couldhave my valves adjusted and fork seals changed and other minor stuff?
Thanks a lot, Joel

let us know what you do to renew

Hi Joel,

Surprised you aren't going to *try* renewing your TIP at the closest border, Sopoa. Its only 20 minutes south once you get back on the Pan-Am. Very curious to learn what you finally decide to do and how it works for you. You might do better in Managua. SalCar's moto business manager was ready to point the last guy to the customs office in Managua, then he choose to go to a border, where he had problems, reportedly because he had less than a week left on his TIP... Perhaps the "week" window was an excuse the officials used to try and extract a fee.

Awesome gesture on your part!

Looks good and your doing a good job being hospitable to riders and bikers. I am traveling from TDF to Prodhoe Bay leaving May 2015. My plans is to ride through Nicaragua but if I have any problems I will call you. Are Harley parts hard to get a hold of? I heard the owner of the HD got arrested and lost the dealership.......or was that Honduras? Any other shops that deal in Harley parts?

Hi Gabeslaw,

Sorry for late reply but it has a bit crazy lately between work, travel and riding

Did you manage to depart to TDF?

All the best!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
