I don't know about Mexico, but some of the rental places in San Diego rent dual sports that you can take in.

There are some US tour co's that rent DS bikes for Baja, mostly based along the I-8 SD corridor. You'd have to Google em though.

Cancun can be a relatively cheap destination as far as airfares go. They plan to take more of your money once you're on the ground there.

Mex City has a bunch of money, so I'd be surprised if there weren't some outlets there.

Cancun is way-the-you-know-what out there, but you can actually look at svelt Euro babe bikinis on the beach in the morning and be sipping cold cervezas that same evening up high in Chiapas, if you have a notion to ride.

Good to hear things are working out for you down there.

There is a guy that rents BMW 650s near Mexico City. I can't remeember his name but I think it is Oscar Calderon or something like that. If you check the page for last years Creel Meeting you should find his info.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
