refused entry in Los Manos going Nicaragua

Had bad luck yesterday, didn't let us in, because we needed original plates on the bikes ( I made them myself, matching up the paperwork of the bike, all legal)
It was the Nicaraguan National Police , what gave me the hassle and wouldn't help me to get pass , for all the expected crap reasons.
What can I do next? other border? give me some ideas
What happens usually, when plates get lost during travelling, to continue

Thanks
