passing Mexican border with new title

I am hoping to buy a bike on Monday in Denver to take into Mexico. I will be registeing the bike in my name on Tues. and hope to leave immediatly to try and catch a bit of the Creel meeting.
Does anyone know if I will have problems passing the border without a title since I doubt the state will issue it one the same day?

i would have thought you will need some proof of ownership. we always needed it. they state at border that title is needed, so guess it depends on how good you can blag.

I think James Klotz somehow got a new bike through the border, try searching the Creel 05 meeting threads.

I titled my bike in a different/new state a couple of weeks before heading to Creel and submitted my application for new title and registration form as proof and had no problems.

I did not bring up the fact that it wasn't a 'real' title. I was also renewing my vehicle importation permit.
