New tyre in Mexico city or thereabouts?

My TKC80 rear is going to need replacing just about the time I hit Mexico city (I'm travelling down from Austin) - Anyone suggest a good place to replace it, and if I'm not going to be able to get the same tyre, what a good substitution would be?

Thanks!

We will be out of the city from Dec21st-Dec29th otherwise you could stay with us and we could sort out the tyres.
I am assuming you need 130/80 17 and 100/90 21. The best place to try is Honda Tlalpan.
Periferico Sur 5535 . Col. Cantera Puente de Piedra . C.P. 14040 . Tlalpan DF . Tel. (55)5666-5633
The guy to talk to is Miguel. A couple of travellers have bought tyres from them recently and have raved about the service and the prices. The shop is easy to miss when you come down Periferico but there is a Yamaha dealer right next to it. If you don't spot it until you see the Yamaha shop you need to make a u-turn, with great care as you will be going the wrong way! or use the sidewalk! You should use the side road of the Pereferico if not you won't be able to get off at the right exit and ity is a long loop back.
If you find you get here after Dec 29th you are welcome to stay with us. We normally have a celebration for the New Year which you are also welcome to come to. I am not sure what we are doing this year but I think it will be something smallish.
Safe travels
Garry

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
