Need Battery Tiger 800 XC in Guanajuato

The battery of my Tiger 800XC is dead (un-chargeable)....the bike sat in my hotel lobby for two weeks and when I attempted to start the bike this morning it was dead. Had it charged and it would not hold a charge.....it is dead. I do not speak any useful spanish yet. Tried AutoZone in Guanajuato, they do not carry any moto batteries. I am not pressed for time but would like to get going again soon. The battery and parts places are pretty much closed for the weekend so I will began looking again Monday morning.

If anyone has any usefull ideas I am all ears. It is a good bet that there is not going to be a battery for the Tiger in Guanajuato. Likely the nearest battery will be in Leon. I can always go to Leon by bus, get a battery and return to Guanajuato. It would be better to have the battery sent here and save a day on the bus.

The main problem is "no hablo espanol" and that makes locating a battery by phone all but impossible. I need a YTX16-BS battery for the Tiger.

Any ideas anyone?

Stuck, But Not in a Bad Place,

You have the right attitude, no panic or desperation and you will find a battery.
Try several of the moto-partes shops and if they don't have your particular battery number they can either direct you to a shop in Guanajuato which does
have it or connect you to a supplier in Leon . They can also order it in for you and save you a bus trip to Leon or to ??? and the bother of walking about looking for the store there. Who knows , you may already have it now.
Enjoy your stay in GTO

Go to any place that has a red, white, and blue LTH batteries sign. If they don't have it, get them to write the address of the Place they know that will have it on a piece of paper. Get a taxi driver and ask how much to get to the place, decide on the price and go. LTH make batteries for slmost all bikes. You can also ask any pizza/pharmacy delivery rider where to get a battery. In most cities in Mexico, the bike shops are all close to each other and some are open Sundays.
You can also look up the catalog online and find the corresponding model modeland a retailer that will have it. An LTH battery service center will uaually stock almost the entire range. Anh MotoMundo bike parts shop will have it but it will cost more.
Euromoto is the Triumph dealer in Leon. You might find that at least one employee will speak enough English to help you.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
