MX MC Insurance Recommendations
Hi all,
apart from Mr. Ron's tread "http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/Forum29/HTML/000824.html", where mollydog recommends "Seguros Provinciales" - do you have any experience or recommendations wrt MC insurance you can get within Mexico? Any names of companies where I can get one? (I'm in Cancun at the moment) Thanks & best regards Winfried |
Try this;
http://www.mexpro.com/ Takes about 5 minutes online and your good to go. I have used them twice now with no problems, and they are much cheaper than Sanborns. Mike. |
Try these guys too:
www.bajabound.com You can get coverage online and I have used them in the past. Not sure about claims though! ------------------ Dave www.mototrekker.com |
msg996 found a good site. Living near the Mexican border, I take the insurance for granted (in that I can purchase it whenever I need it for a day or weekend ride into Mexico) However, if I was to ride many times into Mexico in a year, it would be much more cost effective to purchase a one-year policy at $130(US)/year vs. $25(US)/weekend. This should be taken into consideration for someone riding in US/Mexico for a long period of time, whether you intend to cross the border back and forth many times, or stay in Mexico for the longer period of time.

btw: finally bought the ACE one online from Mexadventure for some 170 USD (since the others were too US specific) and - you won't guess it - right the next day I was involved in an accident. Somebody in Merida didn't like my panniers and smashed one with his car (he didn't expect me to stop at a yellow traffic light). ACE sent an agent within 15 Minutes and up to now everything looks fine... (Lucky me - only the pannier was damaged, neither me nor the bike)
