Can someone please tell me the situation with toll roads and fees for countries south of mexico?

I rode through 12 Latin American countries last year and Mexico had the only expensive toll roads. I don't remember any in Central America. Colombia and Peru let bikes go for free. Ecuador, Bolivia, and Argentina had tolls, but were cheap.

I can't recall any tolls at all in CA down to Costa Rica, except for tolls entering San Jose, CR.
As of now central american main road is better than Mexico.
Barely no potholes until you hit Costa Rica, CR has shallow potholes that really doesn't bother. This is for CA 1. (not coastal highway of Nicaragua that offers ore potholes than pavement)

Brazil has tolls like in argentina - sometimes you pay others you don´t.

In Colombia, many paved roads have toll boths, but motorcycles get to bypass in the extreme right motorcycle-bicycle bypass.

In Ecuador, between the border and Quito - 4 tool booths I believe - 20 centavos each. To a Gringo, its not worth the effort of stopping, finding nuetral, maybe putting down the kickstand, pulling off the gloves to reach into a pocket for a $1 bill or a pocket full of change just to pay 20 cents. To an Ecuadorian though - maybe mucho dinero. I lost 80 cents when checking my map; the coins fell out of the map case where I slipped it for a quick getaway. I probably made the day for the old guy sitting on the bench at the bus stop where I dropped it.

One 20 mile section coming into San Jose Costa Rica, 50 Colones, or 10 cents U.S.
I guess, south of Mexico, all the tolls lumped together wouldn't amount to $10. Much more a hassle of fishing out the coins than any real financial impact.
I've thought about a coin dispenser, but the various coins range from a thumbnail size to Silver Dollar size.

Brasil has lots of toll roads. On the coast, anyway.

yup stretcher monkey is right. i got back on the road on friday and seen a lot more toll roads than expected. just from curitiba to foz iguaçu 600km there where 9 toll roads all approx 1-2USD/tool per bike.

Toll roads in Chile I found to be quite expensive at least in a car .
About three times that of Argentine. That goes for the gas too.
