Mexico safety?
 

With all the new warnings from the U.S. government, has anyone cancelled or altered plans to ride through Mexico through to South America? :stormy:

I'm landing the 15th of april in LA, after that we ride trough mexico, el salvador, guatemala, honduras, etc

would like to hear some good advice as well.

Common sense will help a lot. There is a lot of drug related violence but if you behave like a normal person you shouldn't have any problems. I have lived here for over 30 years and never had a problem. I have visited every state in Mexico without a problem. Military checkpoints are normal and nothing to worry about. Don't worry but be sensible. Enjoy the country and the people.
Now the United States that is something to worry about. I just heard that 90% of the illegal arms in Mexico come from there. Anyone can own a gun and shootings of innocent citizens is very common. I would worry more about LA than Mex, I am just joking but anywhere can be dangerous so if you are that worried stay at home but that may also not be safe.
