Mexico late Nov. early Dec.
 

I will be crossing from Arizona into Mexico on November 22nd, likely at the Agua Prieta X-ing. I need to be in Mexico city before December 5th, but my plan to get there is wide open, so if anyone will be wandering in the same general direction at the same time it would be great to hook up for a few days.

I might also be talked into crossing at Mexicali and riding down Baja to the Santa Rosalia or La Paz ferry. No set schedule yet. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

howd the trip go? Im planning on a trip to Mexico in January.

The trip is great and still ongoing, my bike is currently in Mexico city, and I will return to it hopefully by the 10th of Jan. and head further South into Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras. Send me an e-mail if you will be anywhere in the South of Mexico around mid January. It would be great to have some company on the road for a while!

Im unsure of dates yet please keep me posted, How was the trip down? did you leave from Nogales? free roads or toll? any other problems? Ive driven to central america before but in a van first time im doing it on bike, I have a Honda shadow 750 ACE 2003 with only 4000 Kms I will be towing it to Arizona by car and driving from there, and probably coming back up the Baja, Talk to you later

You will have no problems on the bike especially if you are riding down the coast. Military checkpoints are much easier and quicker on a bike than in a vehicle I think. All the roads along the coast are in good condition and you don't need a dual purpose bike, your bike will do just fine. Bear in mind that if you return up Baja and elect to take the gravel from Mex1 North to Puertocitos and San Felipe, (very beautiful) the road is about 250kms long and very rough so leave early and do not be in a hurry. Also, if your bike has a short range be sure to buy fuel at Bahia Gonzaga. There is no Pemex there, But they do have good fuel in large drums for sale if you ask.
