Looking for a mechanic to replace front brake cable between San Juan Del Sur & Panama

Hi folks:

In getting my bike ready for the trip; I installed 2" Rox handlebar risers; which I have to tell you really come in handy whenever I need to stand up on the foot pegs... I'm really glad I added them.

In any case, I installed the risers and swapped to a beefier set of handlebars that came off a BMW F1200GS (so my bike could become a Frankenstein -- even more powerful than before muahhaha!) myself (go me!).

One consequence to installing these risers was that the brake line cable was too tight at full lock. In order to free up the brake line; there is a bolt/screw (I forget which) that holds the line to the fork or frame of the bike. I removed that screw/bolt and have happily been riding to S. America.

However now I have noticed that the rubber housing has ripped open presumably where the cable is rubbing against this former mount point. Inside the rubber housing looks to be some kind of braided metal; which still looks in tact. I threw on some duck tape as a temporary fix; but I'm curious if I can do better (as I'm not confident the duck tape will last). I know a longer brake line cable would be the best solution.

I'm in San Juan del Sur (Nicaragua) and will be riding into Costa Rica tomorrow (22nd) as I have to catch the Stahlratte on for a March 6th sailing. I'm planning on stopping at every mechanic on the way there as I feel this is a critical safety problem to be addressed immediately. If you have any recommendations of mechanics on the road from here south I could get this work done at; and their address/contact info; I'd be very grateful.\

Best,
David
