Huehuetenango to Coban Guatemala

Anybody have any recent experience with the road from Huehuetenango to Coban. I understand it's been paved (or mostly paved) since my last trip. Also, any news on the route from Coban to Flores, thru Sayaxche, would be appreciated as well.
Thanks, Chakaron

The road you are talking about is RN7W . When was the last time you rode it
Last year March it was a great paved road from Huehue east until the last 30 km climb up the mountainside to reach San Cristobal Verapaz . This was was a long construction zone .I wrote a post about it here on the HUBB ,others with more recent experience have also written . I imagine that in the past year construction has been continuing and may be nearing completion.
Coban to Flores is all paved , except of course a few minor construction bits where a bridge or bad pavement is being replaced. And of course the Rio de la Pasion crossing at Sayaxche is still by ferry. I came through here only a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the reply Sjoerd. It's been several years since I've passed through that area and I appreciate your input. Thanks, Chakaron
