Honduran border crossing in North to Corinto

Hi everyone, any updated information on this crossing. Can only find out that there is a new bridge possibly called "arizona" and paved on the GUat side. Not sure on the Honduran side.
ANy info would be appreciated as we would prefer to go that way vs El Florida.
Cheers
Jules

Corinto HN border

The border crossing you refer to is the one served by an excellent paved highway via Entre Rios from CA 9 south of Puerto Barrios,GT
The crosssing has been excellent for the last several years as they have completed the new bridge and the connector highway to Puerto Cortes along the Gulf of Omoa.
I used it coming from Guatemala back into Honduras 2 years ago and was quickly processed out of HN at their large new terminal building.
' There may be a problem of sorts here though. Several travellers have posted their experiences going INTO HN and it seems that the border terminal was not staffed with all the required offices,. These travellers reported that they were assigned a "guide" who they had to give a ride 80km to Pto.Cortes where this "guide " was supposed to take them to the office where the paperwork would be completed. Not a very practical plan if you are riding a bike.
Leaving Honduras was no problem for me, they readily took care of stamping me and bike out.
But then on the GT side there was then no GT customs terminal, only a roadside check station which could not do processing of the bike papers . For this I was directed to the SAT office in Pto.Barrios and I rode there. Do not believe the guy at the roadside shack if he says you have to leave the bike there and take a taxi to Pto.Barrios and back. But again this was 2 years ago and they hopefully have by now set up a functional customs office directly on the GT side of the border .

HI Sjoerd
THanks for your advice, always helpful. We are in PB now and it looks like the border is open as well, so all good.
I did read online last night that full facilities now exist at GT end, so we will go early am tomorrow.

Thanks again heaps
Jules
