Costa Rica-Panama border

Hi

can I pass on the Carribien side by Gaubito and get all the paperwork done @ the border?
I believe now it is mandatory to have liability insurance, if so can i get it there?
Any other hassles?
ready to take this border in 2/3 days

thanks

Yes all services are offered at the Guabito entry to Panama from Sixaola ,Costa Rica.Mandatory insurance is sold right there.
Be ready for an interesting crossing.--- unless they have replaced the old bridge over the river the last 2 years. They were planning on redoing that one , a lovely narrow gauge railroad with planks between the rails and alternating one way traffic, but no trains.
At least they replaced the similar bridge at Changuinola several years ago,
Enjoy the region, very tropical - jungly . The north facing slope of the road across the mountains to Chiriqui and David can be in pretty rough shape after rainy season damage.

That's right - you can't get lost. Only one road.

Great road - however expect some moisture up there.

Enjoy the bridge at Sixaolo.

I realize you are probably already over the border but for anyone else who might read this post.

Be wary of that border bridge when it's raining. It is VERY slippery. We were sliding all over the place which made things a little interesting. :stormy:
