Border Crossing Mexico - Guatemala
Hi, dont know where the topic fits best, just want to tell the latest experience.
A german friend crossed at the Highway 200 and found not only a lot of kids trying to help him so that we was able to enter Guatemala within 30 minutes, he also had to pay 50 US Dollars for a strange insurance which did not exist. we crossed at Ciudad Cuauthemoc and as everybody else mentioned, it was great. No kids, the mexican exit was more than easy, they even took our hands to say "Buen Viaje". The Guatemalan folks were even more friendly. costs: (on 8. March 2005) no exit costs in Mexico Entry Guatemala: Desinfection: 12 Quetzales Visa (Immigration): 10 Quetzales Bike Permit (Aduana): 41 Quetzales took 20 minutes in Mex and 30 in Guatemala. We strongly recommend this crossing. |
