Best route to by-pass El Salvador??
 

What would be the best route to completely by-pass El Salvador and the infamous Guat./ES - ES/Honduras border crossings? Been through each twice and have no desire to repeat the process. By-pass roads pavement or gravel/dirt?

ES bypass
 

Going either way can bypass ES by taking routes from Esquipulas,Guatemala into Honduras then towards Santa Rosa Copan . Either carry on North thru Sta.Rosa for all pavement or just south of there head east on the mixed paved and gravel route towards Comayagua. Then you can pick whatever route east you like thru Tegucigalpa and Danli or south the coastal route to Nicaragua.
Or enter Honduras at Florido Copan , easy, or up near the north coast from Entre Rios GT. This latter one means you will have to get the paperwork for bike and migracion done at the SAT office in Puerto Barrios entering or leaving since the customs shed along the road is ill equiped ( was so two years ago anyway)

9, 10, 11
 

We took CA9 out of Guatemala City until CA10 then south to CA11. This enabled us to go a short distance to Copan Ruinas. This is a great place to visit. Easy border crossing.
