extending moto permit in Nicaragua

Does anyone have experience with extending a vehicle permit? I know I could get it done in Managua but i was hoping I could do it at the border.
Cheers

yes you can, but...

Yes, you can extend your TIP at the border. Don't wait until the last minute. A rider asked the same question. He chose to go to the border and did not have a pleasant experience.

Scroll down the list of posts and read the thread. "Extending visa/moto permit for CA-4 countries "

Thanks so much.I'm in San Juan Del sur, 20 km from the border. I was hoping I could avoid a trip to Managua.

share your experience

Joel,

The question of extending importation comes up often. The rules change or shift from location to location and country to country. Your experience could be valuable to others.

major hassle

I wasn't able to extend my permit at the border so I guess I need to go to Managua. From what I've read it can only be extended two days before it expires. Do you know anything about that?

Hola,

if you want to extend the permiso you have to go to Managua 2 times. At the office from DGA you have to apply for the permit. Then you have to go to the bank and pay 30 $ US in Cordobas. The next day, you have to wait 24 hours, you will get your new permit.
You can leave the country and come back. It's probably easier. Or you pay a fine. 50 US $ plus 1 $ for every day extra. Like this it was in September..

saludos Josecito
