article on Darien Gap road

Here's an interesting article about the controversy on whether to build a road through the Darien Gap. Columbia's president wants a road, and he's lobbying hard for Panama to build it. The Panamanians have concerns about security and environmental problems.

Interesting, but I wouldn't trust everything the National Geographic say. The March edition featured a damning, sensationalised, egotistical and inaccurate picture of Medellin in Colombia. Having spent FAR longer there than I intended, I met nothing but the most wonderful people who are now very pissed off at this publication. The area I live in in London can be much more dangerous - depends on what you do, doesn't it?
