has anyone tried this tent

just wondering if anyone has used one of these tents, ?
i know its a bit heavy for biking but i like the idea of having somewhere to work on the bike if need be, or to just keep kit ?

The pack size may be an issue. It says length 58cm, which is great but it must be the same again in diameter so will take up a lot of room. However, if you were part of a group and were using this tent as a base for a weeks touring it would make perfect sense.

IMHO, being able to get your bike into your tent is of no practical use at all. If you need to do some work on your bike just ask the campsite owner or a local biker if they have a garage or some hard standing you can use. You will end up with a better selection of tools and probably a cool too.

thanks wanted another perspective, looked at the cons, etc think ill be going for smaller lighter and an additional tarp ?

I've got one of these:

Basha, Army Surplus, Camo Nets, Ammo Boxes, Basha, Army Equipment

I can use one or the other to sleep under, work on the bike under the basha or attach the basha tarp to the front of the tent as a porch, or even cover the bike with it if I want to be a little conspicous.

ouch, 15kgs?

I've got a similar shaped Vango in the shed, that is about 8kgs, not as long pack size and was under £100, a sports bike would fit under, but not an adventure bike with tall screen.

I agree with FlyingDoctor, putting the bike inside your tent is overrated and pretty much useless in my opinion. In addition to pack size it's the weight that would scare the bejesus out of me. Almost 16kg for a two-person tent? You'd need a support vehicle to carry that thing

Little late, but maybe better than never?

Why do people buy those brandname tents? And why invest so much money, if you can get a great tent for less?

Mine is a Rejka tent, bought 10 years ago and I still use it. No, it was not somewhere in storage, I DID use it - even during typhoons. Was strong and is still going strong.

I own a two man REI tent and a Redverz. While the Redverz is much bigger and heavier, it is so much more handy than a small, lay down to dress, struggle to get out of two man any day. I don't park the bike inside but rather use the garage for a eating, drinking, dressing. In fact three weeks ago my buddy and I lit a small single burner stove and stayed warm inside while it was snowing outside. Try that in a two man.

The additional weight means nothing when the bike it's self weight in at almost 600 pounds loaded.
