Helly Hansen Jackets

Hi

Before we invested in goretex jackets we used a Light-weight packable jacket by Helly Hansen that we brought from Blacks (about £35). OK its not as good as goretex but it never leaked even in heavy rain - worth a try

Tomorrow I am off to buy a suit of waterproofs. They are in our local farmers supermarket. roughly 50% polyester and 50% pvc. In a delighfully demure canary yellow, Jacket and trousers all for 8 euros 50cents.
I try to avoid riding in the rain, this is in case i get caught out.

Now all I need to complete the ensemble is a pair of pink high heeled wellies

Try Paramo

In the UK there is a company that makes Paramo gear, which is an alternative to goretex and works bloody well IMHO. It uses a different technology and I understand is available at outdoor/hiking shops.

Maybe I'm too late...

...but anyways...for general reference:

most of the time I buy my outdoor stuff (including thigs I need for my motorcycle touring) at a company called "Sierra Trading Post" in the US. Internet order, paying by credit card and I did not have any problems with them since I started ordering something like 15 years ago (the time I moved to Japan). They got great special offers quite often!! Just check on the net for their homepage.
