Underwear

Has anyone found a high quality synthetic underwear that wicks moisture and has a full butt cushion for long mileage riding? I have tried the Andiamo product and although it is very high quality the butt pad is mot full width as it is designed for bicycle riding.

Hi Les
The accepted wisdom on this is to use cycling shorts, which are a compromise because most of the padding is between the legs. Aerostitch have a pair in their catalogue but not sure if they are really any better.

Alternatively, where a good pair of thermal boxer shorts (i use Helly Hansen, or silk)and add a sheepskin to the seat for those long days.

I have some Lowe Alpine base layer and they are excellent, keep you comfortable and don't smell. Never tried Helly Hansen though. Cycling shorts are the way to go for padding.

Cheers Andy.

I also use Helly Hansen. They don't smell and dry very quickly when washed. I'm not too keen on the panel on the front which is a layer of thicker shiney polyester, but other than that there great for travelling.
