Thermarest Neoair

I bought a Neoair recently to ease my aching back. Far too many years with far too thin pads got me looking for a new one. My biggest requirements were, thick enough to lay on my side and not have anything touching the ground, wide and long enough to lay completely on and most importantly pack up VERY small. The neoair does this, inflates easily and is thick. Shrinks down to the size of a Nalgene water bottle, and comfortable as you can get. A bit pricy, but what is a good night sleep worth???:D

Thanks for the review. I have been loooking at them and they seem ideal.
Are they warm too for cold weather?

Cheers,

no bag?

Just looking at the reviews to see if it would be worth me replacing my older thermarest - they are v.expensive and from what I read you don't get the bag with it! For heaven's sake Thermarest, that's pathetic!
:confused1:

Cheers,

It all depends on what is cold, Thermarest says yes, combined with a foam pad, it did pass my cold floor test in which I set it up on a cold tile floor in maine in early may and slept well for the entire night. Middle of winter on snow...not sure

You, I know...$140 for a product and then they make you spend another $10 for a sack....it is a nice sack though :blushing:

Thermarest trick

Hi everyone,

A few years ago I was very cold on mountain training with the amazing Gurkhas. Those guys could sleep outside in a teabag and stay warm but for me a comfy bag and mat were required. One trick I came to adopt is to put the mat INSIDE the bag and this makes the whole experience a lot LOT warmer. Put this whole shebang inside a hooped bivi and you will be toasty wherever (almost). Also if its really cold wear a woolly hat/balaclava/thermal buff.

Silk PJs ae also very good but may get some funny looks...

Ed i just bought one, it does come with a stuff sack and for £85 it's not so expensive for a full sized 185cm roll mat.

They have definitely come down in price then. I'd have one in a flash but my current thermarest is still living so I can't justify it really...

You need to turn the volume down, there's a dial round the side, I found the same, I think the default volume is 5!
