Camping Equipment

We have just finished three years in South America and feel you are better to buy in UK/Europe than South America. Most items are heavily taxed and quality kit although available could be quite expensive. Now in the USA and this is camping heaven with the range of items extensive and cheap. It would be good if you flew to Sth America via the USA for a shopping spree... Maybe do an internet buy and get it sent to the UK. Happy hunting... Ken & Carol

buy here

If South America is anything like Australia with cost of imports and taxes you're better off buying here - for no other reason than choice of quality kit. I really struggled to get reasonably priced stuff in Australia.

You can't go far wrong using someone like Traveldri Plus (who I think most of us on here have bought from at one time or another - I now refer to Les who runs it as 'my dealer').

Seconded. I took everything I 'needed' on my first trip to S. America, and about half as much for the second! PM me or have a chat at Ripley if you're there (I'm on registration) if you need any tips.

Regards, Mick

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
