go into you local bmw dealer and ask them about the options, depends what you want from a suit all of those suits will do fine in cold and wet

Only if you buy a good set of waterproofs too. The outer layer on that suit is about as rainproof as my Levis and whoever thought of the idea of putting the waterproof layer INSIDE a £700 suit must have been smoking some powerful stuff! Ever meet a mountaineer who wears his waterproof layer underneath his fleece?

100% agree on this, the problem is many jackets and pants work the same way, idiot stuff. I have this jacket, it is nice and works well in the cold, good for a range of temperatures with the liner in not too hot at 20ºC not too cold down to say -3ºC, with just a tee shirt underneath. I will be getting a raincoat for the rain as I might aswell wear the liner alone once it starts to rain.

Why such a limited choice? Vouchers? Deal with a bike?

None of these are more than shower proof. They are meant for Starbucks in September not North Cape in November. If you get them dirty they stop breathing and you boil in the bag. The collars, waist and cuffs are fashion items. They take forever to dry out and are not something you want stinking out a tent or hotel room. The pockets end up damp.

Get a riding suit that protects from crashing in the sun without cooking you, a one piece rain suit for the wet (the sailing brands if you need it to really work and last) and thermals for the cold (mountaineers brands if you need to). (Something as simple as cotton mechanics overalls worn as an extra layer really help seal the gaps and can be bought in walmart/town markets etc. for next to nothing). All you need to do with the riding gear is buy a size that won't compress your base layers.

My one piece Held rain suit, one piece thermals, two pairs or wool socks, silk opera gloves (get them from wedding suppliers, they reach the elbow), balaclava and an ex-German Army tank suit (lined overalls) fit in a 20 litre stuff sack, weigh 2-3 kg and extend the range of my Hein Gericke (liners removed) jacket and trousers from plus 3 down to minus 20. The plastic suit drys in ten minutes hung in a hotel shower, or can be left in its sack until there is a nice day to dry it by riding.

I agree with this, too.
I have a Suit with a Gore Tex inner layer an the problem is, that the suit on the outside will be soaked after an hour. Afterwards it will take 2-3 Days until it is dry again. So this whole time, you have to handle this wet thingy in your tent and everywhere.
Better solution, in my opinion, leave alone this whole "waterproof suit" idee, get a cheap "summer" suit without any liner but good ventilation and get a good rain suit to wear on top. In germany you can buy old army gore-tex rainsuits for about 50 €, which are perfect for this purpose.
