shark "evoline" helmet

just braved the crowds at the NEC bikeshow, the shark stand has a prototype of the new evoline helmet.
if you dont know what that is, its a new flip up where the chinbar can go all the way over, like a roof boxer. unlike the boxer, its certified (for what thats worth these days) as a full face AND an open face, the chinbar has a very positive lock on the front and it locks round the back too, designed to be aerodynamic, quiet, and not look a twat. for once i could get my huge square jaw in it and it didnt squash my nose, bonus!
has a built in sun visor, like a caberg, and seemed very well put together.
the guy said around £250, out around the end of january, which seemed a lot but quality wise it was at least as good as a shuberth, 10 times as good as a roof boxer.
just wait to see if the production helmets are as good as that prototype, shark do seem to be pretty good in general.

they have fins

My son has a Shark full face helmet ,it's a very well made lid .
I'm in the market for a new helmet so I'll wait for the Shark flip front ,I tried a Shoei Multitec the other day , I was very dissapointed at the amount of chin clearance . [and I'm no Jay Leno !] .

thats the one, glad they finally sorted out their website!

it wasnt actually on show, i had to ask specifically for it at the shark truck/stand and the guy went out back and got it. then he watched me like a hawk and practically made me stand on a gymnastics mat and took up a wicket keeper crouch in case i dropped it!

not really, but his 'attention' did make me wonder how much a prototype lid like that is worth. maybe not so much in money terms, but it was the only one in the country, he said.

and it was matt black, so you shouldve gone to the show steve!
