Optimus svea 123

Has anyone used an Optimus SVEA 123 stove before? Can you run them on normal unleaded petrol or do they have to be run on white gas?

Don't suppose anyone has one that they want to sell?

By all accounts these are excellent stoves, I nearly bought one, but they only run on coleman fuel and any kind of petrol.
I bought a Optimus omnifuel because it will run on gas, paraffin/kerosene and diesel as well. I doubt I will ever run it on gas. It does start and run on paraffin well. Incidentally it runs 25% or so longer on paraffin than petrol.

You can run them on either but white gas has fewer obnoxious additives than petrol and burns cleaner.

Look on ebay for stoves there's usually lots .

Isn't that a Primus? (mine is!!)

I must say, I feel like I'm developping a stove addiction: each one looks good and seems to call "you need me in your life!!"

Pure gadget mongery at this point, but still

You are correct, I just looked at the box. Are they not the same company now? I think Primus owns Optimus..

The good news it it works as advertised out of the box, no need to do 36 hours of downloading and still not working as with my new Garmin.
I will still be carrying my old £10 gaz stove for quick things like tea/coffee as it is so much quicker to deploy for a roadside 'cuppa'.
