Non sweaty cold weather hat?

Hi,

I need a warm hat to wear that doesn't make my head sweat too much when exercising in the cold. Using cheap polyester wooly hats at the moment - cold and sweaty...

Any suggestions? I'm UK based.

Thanks guys,

Finisterre have left New Zealand off of their interactive map, so they are off the list!

SealSkins look very good, I went to a large Costwolds today but they had one flippin hat in stock.

I definitely want double layered and a little ear/neck protection if possible. I will try to find some more Sealskins to look at...

They have a wide range:

Letter to Finisterre ;-)

Dear Finisterre,

You products were recommended to me online:

However when viewing your website I noticed that on your interactive map you seemed to have chopped off my country New Zealand from your map. Is this some sinister plan to avoid potential customers being reminded that all things woollen are better if from New Zealand?

i-Spy

I am offended. Please restore my country to its rightful place in the world or the sheep of New Zealand will organise a boycott of your products.

Kind regards,
Darrin (wearing a warm New Zealand made Swanndri)

Buy a Possum/merino hat from NZ, they are the best I have used. Non-itchy, warm and soft.
I have two of them and find them great in winter.

woolpower!

I recommend you look at Woolpower they are a Swedish company that make high quality clothing, and as suggested by the name it is made out of high quality merino wool.

They do everything from fleeces ,long-johns, to hats and balaclavas(openface). The good thing is that they have differant weights of wool so you can match the clothing to your activity level.

I have 2 of their balaclavas in different wool weights both the 200g and 400g that can be worn comfortably under a helmet or folded up on the head and worn as a skip cap.

I got mine in sweden but heres a link to a uk supplier

[Headwear, Bandanna, Tilley, Balaclava, Lowe Alpine Cap, Beanies

Sorry The link is only for the 200g weight balaclava, but just to give you an idea.

If you spend the money on good wool you will be warm even if you are wet from sweat ,unlike the cheap polyester hats, and the good wool doesnt get too smelly even if your wearing it alot.

Happy shopping :)
