I've just bought an Exped Downmat 9.
It's a 90mm thick down filled inflating mat with an integral pump. It packs up to approx 300mm long by 200mm round.
The down insulates you from the cold,hard,unforgiving ground and it's comfier than the comfiest of comfy things.
It was £145 though, so it might be cheaper fly to Italy (Leeds-Bradford to Pisa, £29.99, Jet2Go) then get some bin-liners and stuff them with 1000 Lira notes.

Thankyou Steve and Plumbaa, the very same design I believe. this is defo the way Im gonna go, money very well spent.

Plumbaa, I took part on last years Enduro Africa event, The wild Coast rocks I tell You. Darrel Curtis, Graham Hedgecock and Eddy and all the other Saffa's were great riders and a pleasure to meet. Nice one mate...!! :thumbup1::thumbup1:
