Goggles for specs wearers
 

Hi,
Whilst there seems to be a fair amount of goggles available for wearing over specs none of them seem to come with a dark screen for bright conditions. I've had a look at the Oakley, Scott and Smith websites and no joy.
Does anyone know of a brand that do such a thing and where I might get some in the UK?

hi mate,
1. im sure FOGCITY do (or did) an insert for goggles that you could get in different tints?
2. try other manufacturers that do those kind of things, BIEFFE for instance.
3. look at ski equipment stockists. ski goggles are usually impact safety rated.
4. you could put some tinted film into goggles pretty simply, they are designed to come apart so you can change the lens easily.

My Dad uses UVEX goggles as a specs wearer and swears by them.I'm sure they do tinted or Iridium(highly reccomended) goggles too.

They have light-sensitive goggles, big enough for specs underneath.

Have sorted myself out with some Scott goggles. Had to buy a grey lens as well as the clear that came as standard but still only came to £35 or so.

Check out ESS goggles. The Military uses them and they have a really inexpenive insert for their dust goggles and for their eyeshields (ICE 2.4) that are good sunglasses.ballistic eye protection. The whole system is relatively cheap and very comfortable.

I second this. I have a pair of ESS Military Flight Deck goggles that I wear over my glasses with my MX helmet. They cost me $50CAD and came with Clear and Dark Smoke lenses, which are very easy to change - takes about 30 seconds. They are MilSpec rated for ballistic protection, which means that they can take a 12 gauge shotgun blast from 30' and not shatter. While I haven't tested this, I did take a rock to my goggles the other day at ~130kph and the lense didn't even chip or crack. They are comfortable and provide adequate ventilation to prevent overheating or fogging.

Scott definately do them as Ive got a pair.

I bought mine from John Deacon in Saltash (Cornwall) - my recoemndation is screw the websites and go to a shop and try them on.
