Gerbings Heated Jacket Liner and XR250
 

Hi. Heading down to TDF from Santiago in february. Plan on purchasing smaller bike such as honda xr250. Seems like a heated vest would be a nice luxury especially with the wind. Do you think the alternator output on this bike would be enough to run a gerbings heated jacket liner? I think the power draw is approx. 77 watts. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming they have the "L"

I've got a XR600 not the 250 - no battery, everything runs straight off the magneto. It can run my Gerbing jacket or the lights but not both.
Switch them both on, the lights are dim and the jacket goes cold. Works well for daytime use but obviously not good at night

Seems like the guy knows what he's talking about and I imagine the klr250 has a similar output to the xr250. The idea of changing to led and the headlight switch makes a lot of sense. Since I'm not going to have a lot of time to prep, I'm debating of just forgoing the heated liner and just bundling up really well. I'm sure it's been done before. Any opinions???

I just ordered mine, mainly because unlike Gerbin they provide Women fit.
Basically I'm sick of buying blokes motobike clothes that pretend to be "unisex"! It ain't!

I think they draw less from the battery. check out their website!
