I know with my Gaerne SG10s my feet get wet if there is any spash up from the road. Left foot first. Those boots look very much like may Forma GTs, heavy leather and 2 buckles. They also give me wet feet.

But it doesn't much matter. I have the ultimate water proofing that keeps my feet dry even if the boot is wet inside: 2 plastic shopping bags. Cost = <R1. £0.05. Best of all when they are not in use they don't take up space. They double as a dirty laundry holder!

Old Enduro Rider's Trick

Sno Seal (Ski boot water proofing Bee's Wax product) helps on Leather Moto boots. Most water ingress comes through main stitching around sole.

Apply to leather portions and stitching, bake in very low temp oven for 20 min. or sit out in Sun for an hour or two. I do this once a year or so. It works!

Far as Plastic bags go ... I prefer "Moto Booties" (or plastic baggies) worn OVER my boots. Everything stays DRY.

Boots that get wet inside will Rot ... and come apart from the inside out ... not to mention the smell!

Nothing worse than putting your clean, warm foot into a WET slimy BOOT!

Um Sno Seal not exactly a hot selling commodity here. Maybe snow once every 25 years or so, which melts as it hits the ground

Ja water comes in where leather connects to sole. On an MX boot, how it gets in through that hard plastic I have no idea.

The smelly wet and slimey, well men are prepared to stick their middle leg into such aperatures, so why not your foot as well

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
