Exped Downmat 7

We have recently purchased 2 Exped mats:thumbup1:, mainly due to people saying
how good they are. Well we have just completed a 2 week Camping
trip and found the mats very comfortable and very easy to pump up and easy to let down and easy to fold back into its bag. However we found them
very noisey:thumbdown: when you roll over you wake yourself and then when the other
half turns over she wakes you as well. Has anyone else noticed this if so what have they done to get round it, we have tried turning them over but no joy there, our thermarest ones were fine but no where near has comfy.

Thanks
Paul

Hello Paul!

I personally haven't had any problems with noisy Exped's, but it might be because i have the chair kit for it. Pre my exped purchase I had around 400 nights in tents, but I'm telling you the tent life now is heaps better. You'll struggle to find a better chair to sit in then the expeds!

I bought 2 Exped downmats and they were fine for one year only. Took them out for second year of use and they have split the longitudinal seams so that they have blisters. Like trying to sleep on a hill or with your crash helmet under you. Not a flat surface anymore.

I've had two and they both did what you describe. The first one was under warranty and was replaced very quickly by the Aussie importer. The second one was out of warranty but by then I was so pissed off with it happening twice I bought a Thermarest.

Oh, and you'd better wear ear plugs if you don't want to wake yourself up!

Cant say I have had any noise issues with mine, but I sleep in a sleeping bag and or cotten sheet, not direct on mat

My original one blew two seams and I had a large ballooned bladder which was hard to sleep on, replaced under warrenty no worries. I have not looked at the replacement for a while now, I will find out in a few days when my bike arrives

Cheers
