German Para Boots

Anybody know where (dont say Germany), I can buy some new German Para Boots. The second- hand ones available in the UK are not in very good condition. ?

I'm not sure where you can find the German para boots, but if you can't find them you may want to try a pair of Danner Ft. Lewis boots. They have a gore tex lining, are comfortable, and come with or without insulation. Also the Cochrin jump boots have been serving the US army for over 50 years, you may want to look at them. The Danners are about $200 us, and the Jump boots $100 us. Good luck.

Hi Andy

I've got a pair of brand new, unused German para boots which were too big for me. Never sent them back, I think they are a size 45 which is something like a UK ten and a half. Bought them over the internet last year.

Any use?

Hi,

Slightly different again, but try this one (also German): www.meindl.de . I have used their GoreTex boots for walking and biking for 5 years. Very heavy, very solid, 100% water proof. The model I chose is called Tundra. It's just high enough for a bike.

Like most if not all GoreTex, etc. gear, it's too hot to be used in climes above about 30 - 35 deg. I guess the GoreTex works in reverse then!

I'm very happy with them.

Probably too late for you, but a company called USMC (I think) in Portsmouth sell new German para boots in all sizes. They also organise mail order, and have a catalogue - and probably a web site. They also sell all the main makes like Danner and Cheruka (appologies if I've misspelled that...).

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
