Cool, armoured , not black , unlined trouser which work with MX boots. Ideas ????

Hi

Can anyone recommend me a pair of lightweight, summer use riding trousers that have decent armour and will preferabley go over my big MX boots.

I had a pair of Hein Gericke AIR pants which were good, but again , these are only available in black :nono:..

I don't want them waterproof. Just cool and comfortable with good knee and hip armour.

Any ideas people ???

Cheers in advance, Ted

I have the HG Tuareg pants. Plenty cool enough in 40 degrees, tough, comfortable, reasonably priced, fits easily over my pseudo-mx boots. I like 'em.

Only downside was some stitching came apart on the velcro waist band, but that's my fault for getting a bit lardy after I bought them.

Most important - good armour. Not waterproof without the lining though, which is a pain.

Do you mean these ones ?????

I was looking at those but the design puts me off a little. I might get mistaken for a Zebra and eaten by a lion lol.

2 hours of internet research has given me these options..

Akito Desert - £80 Seem to be pretty thin and flimsy and wont fit over boots. Shame

BMW summer pants - £135 - No idea about these but they are looking good from reviews.

Hein Gericke Tuareg 89 - £99 - Seem to tick the boxes but the design really is from the 80's

Frank Thomas Senegal - £80 - Looking like the best for my needs at the moment.

My mistake, I think mine must be HG TRG RALLYE GTX III, not Tuareg.

Hein Gericke (UK) Ltd.

I'm sure I didn't pay that much though! Must have been a sale on or something, I'm sure they were one hundred and something... Unless mine are an old version that just looks something like these.

Pricey by comparison to your list, but they are dual-season with the removable liners.

Hi Ted, not that i would normally go for this brand but have been using a pair of these for over 5 years, they are very light, very comfortable, very cool and not so expensive

Apparel - Pant - BMW Summer 2 Pants - - A&S BMW Motorcycle Parts and Accessories

They are BMW summer pants they come in sand or black legs zip off if you like shorts when off the bike - they also do a city pants which are similar but without the zip off legs. They also have pockets for hip armour built in.

I use them a lot of the year with overtrousers they are fine in the wet. if the bottom isnt big enough for your boots they are easy enough to get a zip put in i would think.

I've just been reading into these and they look PERFECT !!

I think i'll be getting these after all. They look like they will also accomodate my monster Tech 10 boots.

Who would of thought BMW would make something that worked without being ludercrously overpriced.

I better buy some before they realise their marketing mistake, put a LWR sticker on it and triple the price :cool4:

Cheers matey !!!:thumbup1:
