Bike kit for the Mrs....

Morning all

I'm after some advice on buying kit for the girlfriend who will have the pleasure (?!) of sitting on the back of the bike from Sydney - London in the not too distant future.

I've got the BMW Rallye 2 Pro suit, Sidi courier boots & Arai Tour X3, but probably want to go a little cheaper for her as will get less regular use than mine before/after the trip (and dont want to be matching!).

Any suggestions on what to get?? Its going to be hot the majority of the time, although want to be able to use it in the UK too once we get there. Its more important though to be better in the heat than the cold. Maybe the Rev'it kit?

Also, she doesn't want to look too stupid and wants something that looks vaguely feminine, although it doesnt need to be pink!!

Any thoughts on helmet? I do like being able to put the goggles on the Tour X, so maybe the same, or Shoei's version?

With the boots, I went for the Sidi Couriers as has a lot of protection from panniers etc but a little more practical than Moto X boots. Thinking for her though something a little shorter and more comfortable? Is protection as important for the pillion's boots, bearing in mind they wont be the one putting their feet down etc?

Any other suggestions or thoughts??

Thanks in advance

Sorry no one has answered you. SO, I'll try. I usually, after 40 years, get my wife the same as I. No questions about quality and no failures of equipment. I wear Arai Xd's tho she like a Shoei multitec flip, and switches back and forth. Boots for 20 years have been Frey Daytonas, the same original boot, we have yet to replace them!! Totally waterproof, comfortable in hot or cold and still look great. We wear Aerostich Darien or BMW Santiago. The one thing good about the Santiago or its replacements, is it vents extremely well in hot weather. Tho in wet it is heavy with Gore liner underneath. Many wear an over gore rain type. Pants to the same jacket system! The advantage of BMW is sizing especially for women. The disadvantage is of course COST. Aerostich is expensive too, but lasts forever. And treated properly is waterproof for long trips. We recently went to Prudhoe Bay, AK., 22 raindays in 30 and stayed dry.
Gloves, easy, many to choose from, but I like the bmw GS model for comfort and in hot. I like a deerskin gauntlet in cold. We use Aerostich 3 digit rain and double as a overglove for unexpected cold.
Now, every body has great suits out there now and many have female sizing, also more modern designs, and waterproofing, zipperproofing, safety padding. So maybe others will chime in. I used to wear Belstaff for years the nylon waterproof ones and then along came new lookalikes. And I still prefer the over the hip jacket and so does my wife.
Hope this helps a little.
Allen.

Thanks for your input - much appreciated. You're probably right, probably more important that she's comfortable than me anyway to keep the complaining to a minimum!!!
