Availability of Jetboil tye gas cartidges in Alaska

We're planning on either taking the jetboil or a stove we have that uses similar threaded cartridges with us to Alaska atthe end of the month but just wanted to be sure we can get hold of the cartridges easily enough first, like these http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...L._SL1021_.jpg

Don't want to make the same assumption we did when we took the Trangia with us to Canada and struggled finding the anything tht burnt similar to meths (Coleman fuel definitely doesn't :oops2:)

Ta,

Chris

Rather than relying on finding a possibly elusive supply, would it not be wiser to take a multi fuel burner giving you the option of gas/diesel/petrol/avgas ?

A good point, though it would mean buying another stove. I'd like to try and utilise one we already have but aren't averse to getting one if need be.

The cartridges should be readily available if you plan ahead. I would take three and start looking for fuel when the first one ran out!

Not speaking from any first hand experience but if you search in google sporting goods store alaska you can buy a Jetboil in Alaska.

Yes you can buy gas cylinders like those in Alaska .Coleman is a North American company , however you will find small propane cylinders much more common .
BTW Trangia fuel is available at every gas station in Canada and also in every hardware store , it's called methyl hydrate [ methanol] or gas line and airline antifreeze ,used to displace ice in sub zero temperatures . It's also a much better fuel than good old British "meths".
