ALDI kevlar jeans £29.99 in store Sunday 10th March UK
Hey Aldi have bike gear in again starting this Sunday, been happy with some bits from there in the past.

Have been after a pair of kevlar jeans for an age but was always put off by the price. For less than 30 quid its a no brainer.

Ok they may not be the most stylish or highest spec but if you wear them instead of normal jeans then they are going to provide some basic protection in a spill.

Get there early I think these will sell out fast

follow up report,

I got a pair of 34" on sunday they were a bit baggy so swapped for a 32". They seem great, I would expect being ALDI that they are a better option than some of the cheap kevlar jeans from ebay. the knee armour is comfy and ce approved. The denim feels comfy and not too heavy, they seem like they will offer me what I wanted, a cooler pant for warm slow days on the bike and for £30 you can't ask for more than that. style wise they are slightly baggy and maybe a tad too trendy but all in all a happy purchase.hey if I had more money I may have gone for a more expensive jean but from what I have seen you would need to spend triple the cost to get anything better.

To anyone who rides in normal jeans these have to be a worthwhile up grade that will offer you some extra peace of mind.

they come with removable knee armour and pockets for you to add your own hip armour.

Glad to see that there are more decent priced and quality jeans out there, they seem to offer lots of patterns colours, wouldnt mind a pair of the camo/combat style myself.

always good to see that people can get good cheap gear, because any protection is better than non

I bought a pair of these jeans (spaceiz) a few months ago. They seem pretty good, especially for the price.

I bought some DuPont Kevlar combats from eBay but in the end didn't quite trust them. Also the inner pockets for the knee armor were upside down, so the armor would irritatingly keep sliding out. For the sake of another 30 quid id rather get a brand name just for peace of mind.

Jeans still going strong and ALDI have a few pairs of this years stock reduced to £17.

Several of my biking collegues have also purchased these jeans and are all happy with quality, protection and how much cooler they are during hot weather than standard riding trousers

I will also chime in. The armoured jeans I bought above are still in great shape and I wear them on any lengthy ride (I wore them this morning in fact.)
The same seller still has quite a few different styles available, as well as other types of riding gear.

ALDI Jeans:
The sizes run big. If you normally take 34W get 32.
They are also very long! I have to turn them up twice for walking about,
kind of look like a Ted or Brando in "the wild one". Not necessarily a bad thing because turned down on the bike they are just right instead of the usual half mast socks on show thing!
There is also inside pockets on the hips to add more armour but it makes you look like you are a girl with big hips.
At £30 if you can still get them they are a bargain!
I got mine when they where reduced to £15

Yeah well noticed they do come in big and are quite baggy jeans, I can fit mine over my work trousers (just) but it means I am riding with some protection rather than none.

Maybe ALDI will release a slimmer style next year, until then I will keep wearing mine and report back.

Its just nice to be able to afford some protection and means no one should have an excuse for riding without any on the basis of cost.

I have about 5 different pairs of riding trousers and my ALDI jeans are getting more use than the others put together.

I am going to try and wash them with some paramo cotton proof, just to see off the odd shower or spray (report fidings soon)

looks good also may have to check out the other styles as I fancy some combat style or black jeans

For only 30 quid its a no brainer....

I agree the fitting is er... Baggy but they do exactly what's needed.

two years down the line
Still using the same two pairs of jeans, two years down the line. Had one "off" after applying the front brake coming down the ferry ramp after a rough crossing. Landed plumb on the knee, and with the protection no issues at all.

I am impressed. The stitching has fared much better than my "Draggin jeans" Cargo pants. Brand name does not enter the equation in my book. My only criticism is that they are hot when worn over regular suit trousers on a hot summers day.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love.
