Which shock for R100R?

I will shortly be buying a new rear shock for an R100R and the current contenders are an original BMW unit and a Hagon. I know what I am getting with the original but does anybody have experience of a Hagon on this model? It does come with a 2 year guarantee and is rebuildable nether of which you get with the BMW original so I don't mind paying a bit extra.
Your thoughts please.

The stock BMW are pretty shite.
White Power or Ohlins are both excellent and rebuild-able.

I have had both and like the WP better, also a bit cheaper than the Ohlins.

Do the front as well and the bike will feel much better (make sure you set the sag etc correctly, well worth the effort).

No experience with the Hagon

I have previously fitted a Hagon to a Varadero and had no problems, and I currently have a Hagon in my R100GS and again I have had no issues with it at all.

One up on Öhlins.
Öhlins have lost their edge since Yamaha bought them.

Wilbers shocks are very good, they do various models to suit the GS, with various prices, they can be built to suit your weight / luggage /pillion requirements at no extra cost. They are fully re-buildable and excellent quality. I would agree that its well worth sorting the front end out while your on. Tchus.

Thanks for the advice so far, I have pretty much ruled out the original BMW,
I have enquired about a WP to find that they are now Yacugar, does anybody have experience? although I am leaning towards the Hagon now.

I have had a Hagon on my bike for about 3 years

They did a special build for us as we carry lots of luggage and 2 people it made the bike handle much better (I also replaced the headstock bearings and stiffened up the front springs)

It gets used mostly on the road we have done a 5000 mile trip to Morocco and a couple of shorter trips to the Continent and regular use in England

All good so far
And there not a bad price either
Bob

I have just read your post again
My bike is an R100GS but it all about the same I suppose

Thanks for that Bob, you have probably swung it to a Hagon.
