Valve adjustments on 1150 GS

I have a new 1150 I plan to take on a long trip this summer. I would like info on owner valve adjustments. My dealer states this must be done by a certified tech but it seems from my reading of various trip accounts that many owners do much of their own bacis maintanance. Any infor anyone can supply would be appreciated.

It is not hard, and compared to other motors it could be considered easy. The valves are easily located, the intake and exhaust can be identified, and the adjustments with a feeler guage and an open end wrench is just a test of your coordination. You have probably spent more time thinking about it than it will take to complete the process. Of course the dealer doesn't want you to do it... If you read up on it, or have a mech. at the shop show you in a few minutes, you will be off and running!

I don't know how long you trip is, but you might want to consider a TWIN MAX to synch the throttle bodies and a volt meter to keep the juice flowing. Happy travels.
