Speedo drive boot
Just in passing, as it were, I think it was on the HUBB that I read about rain getting into the gearbox of airheads past the little rubber cover on the speedo drive. I got a new one (cheap enough,) as the old was slack and probably wasn't very effective. Well, the new one is nearly just as slack so I've put a little cable tie on it to grip the drive and to make sure that rain doesn't get through. Seems worth the price of a cable tie; the less rain in the box, the happier I'll be.

I've always found the boot to be a snug fit over the cable - perhaps yours isn't original and is slightly smaller in diameter.
A tiny zip tie at the top of the boot around the cable is good, more important than the boot to gearbox housing area. A little dab of silicon on the cable where the boot will end up and then slide the boot over that is good too.
