R80GS - rotating engine the wrong way.
Any advice: I've just removed and decoked the top ends on my R80GS & installed stainless pushrod tubes and new grommets.
When setting the valve clearances I rotated the engine the wrong direction by mistake - I normally put it in 5th gear and turn the rear wheel. This time the wheel was out whilst having work done on the bevel box and I did not give the matter enough thought. I've not run the bike yet - am I likely to have caused damage already or will it only occur when I start the engine? Any help or advice appreciated. Steve

No worries - you won't hurt anything on an R80 by turning it backwards.

Thanks, I was concerned that I would have caused some sort of slack etc in the cam chain or tensioners, putting the valve timing out.
