r80g/s wheels and tyres (tires)

I've searched on both spellings but for an up to date opinion what are the best(IYHO)tires for the 80g/s for a trip into northwest africa? Might ride down on road tyres fitted then fit some trail tyres in southern spain. Anyone know of tyre dealers there?

Also, Grant. Did you manage to change your mono for the paralever to get that tubeless rim? Not sure I would myself as the stories about reliability on the para put me off. Is there the option to re-lace the rear wheel and fit a tubeless rim on the original hub?
The front is ok as I have replaced front end from r100r, so better forks, twin discs and tubeless tyre.

Cheers
