R1100 when did they start fitting Cats?

I believe they started with the intro of the boxer oilheads. My '96 R11R has one and I think maybe the 'RS had one in 95

Check the exhausts collector box, if it has an electrical contact with wire's coming out it has a cat, if not it's just a collector box.
